This year I will be hiking in the Utah county area on Tuesdays around 10 or 10:30 AM. I teach a class in Spanish Fork until 9:30 AM so I will need to start after. All hikes are 6 miles or shorter. All hikes can be found on All Trails. They are every other week except for June (extra hike). As you know the supply chain is insanely expensive right now, only to continue increasing and you will see that reflected in the new prices. I really am sick about it, but I feel like I need to still offer wholesome products for as long as I can. I will be placing an order by April 10th at NOON. NO EXCEPTIONS! Please read the directions thoroughly and get your order list into me as soon as you can so things run more smoothly. This is the only order for the year I will be able to offer olive oil.  I don’t know yet when I will be able to get flour, but I will do a separate order for it if it comes later than May. Hi Friends!

I can’t believe it has almost been a year since we got our permit to start building. We have come so far and have grown and changed so much! I look forward to the day we move in! We just have 2 more things on our list to finish over the next few days. We should be able to get our certification of occupancy next week and then it’s home sweet home at that point. I wanted to post some updated pictures for now and then post the completed project when we move in.

 

Cabinets were installed back in December before the paint. If we could change 2 things in the house it would have been to make the kitchen smaller by three feet and decrease the size of the island, but hey, who needs a kitchen table with that thing in the middle of the floor! Lol!

 

Here are a few pictures with the home painted. We decided to go with crushed ice as the color. Ryan did such a great job with installing the trim and shelves.

 

 

After painting was finished we had the countertops installed. We chose the same ones we had in our last house.

 

Pantry and laundry room almost finished here. The pantry is my favorite!

 

Ryan hired some of his guys to come install the stone. I couldn’t believe the going rate for just labor on installation of stone. It took them a whole month to put it all in.

The hardie board install was a huge job for Ryan and my son. It took them the entire month of January. They rented a man lift to do the job. We still saved thousands on labor by doing it that way.

Here is the hardie board all installed with the trim. I am so grateful I ordered materials back in September. The store I bought it from isn’t even selling it anymore. The mud is unreal up there, but just today Ryan was putting down gravel in the driveway so that will help. Decks are going on, water line is in and water is running through the pipes! We have working toilets! YAY! The exterior is being prepped for paint and the balusters and handrail are being installed this weekend. We are on the home stretch!

Hi Friends!

Life has a funny way of working out. It is looking like I will be moving at the beginning of March and will need to push my food order date back to late spring. I can’t give you a date right now as we are close to finishing our home in Sanpete county and will need to go through the mortgage and packing/unpacking process during the time I usually put the food orders together. As soon as we are settled I will update prices and products and then send out a date for the order sometime in April or May. Hi Friends! It has been a while since I have posted. We have been very busy as you know, focusing on the home build. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and we are moving forward with anticipation and excitement. The journey has been long, but a blessed one. The floors are almost finished and cabinets will be installed this week. Trim, doors and then paint go in next. Thankfully we are hiring out the paint job and can focus on other things. Once they paint and countertops go in, the finish electrical, plumbing and banister/hand railings will finish the interior of the home.  Our goal is to be able to finish the home build by mid to late January as we have the exterior we need to install next and connect to water. Here are some of the projects we have been working on over the last few months.

The exterior doors and windows are all in. Final grade is just about finished. I love the rock walls for window wells.

Septic tank went in and is connected to the house. We just need to install the leech field.

 

Propane is our source of heat for the home.

The process of putting in the rough electrical, plumbing and HVAC took 2 solid months. Ryan did a great job on the plumbing and electrical. We hired out the HVAC which was a big job by itself! It was such a huge relief when we passed the 4-way  inspection. Insulation came next! What was really cool about our insulation inspection was the inspector said it was one of the best jobs he has seen and it was our teenage kids that did most of it!

My boys working late into the night breaking up the cellulous while my husband was up in the attic blowing insulation. That was a very long 3 days!

 

Dry wall went in the week of Thanksgiving and took another week to mud and sand. It was such a sight to behold! Now it really is starting to look like a home! Each step means I don’t have to clean up that one thing ever again! LOL! I’ve spent so many days cleaning! I will go through each room when we finish.

My amazing kids helping to put in the flooring this last week. It will be another huge project we will be grateful for when finished in the next few days! Ryan is putting in the tile in the laundry room/bathrooms and cabinets were just delivered today! We will be hanging doors and trim this weekend to get ready for the paint guys to come.  Hopefully my next post on the home build will be the finished project!
