August 26th – Sourdough and Fermentation Workshop
Come and learn how to improve your health and preserve your garden harvest through the foods you eat with ferments!
Did you know there are 10x more micro-organisms than our own human cells? Micro-organisms out number human cells 100:1, making us 1% human. For every 1 message our brain sends to the gut, 9 messages are sent to the brain. Our gut is considered our second brain. The microbiome is the control center for the entire body as they communicate with our mitochondria. These messages control our response to stress, brain hormone production, activation of the immune system, the growth of new cells and the neuroplasticity or the adaptability of our brain cells. Our microbiome is unique to us because of our genes, the food we eat and the environment around us.
We will discuss the importance of the microbiome, how we can support it, learn to make fermented bread and other fermented foods. Class will be held at 12 PM and go to about 3 PM. Lunch will be served and you will get to take home a natural yeast starter to make your own bread with recipes. 12 spots available for the class. No refunds after August 12th.
